Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)

Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble is now eligible for donations through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

BTE’s name has been added to the list of educational improvement organizations to which businesses may make contributions and be considered for Educational Improvement Tax Credits from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Fiscal Year 2016-2017 (July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017). Donors through this program will support BTE’s educational programs, Theatre in the Classroom, Page-to-Stage, High School Theatre Workshop Days, and High School Education and Production Internships.

The EITC program allows businesses authorized to do business in Pennsylvania and subject to certain taxes such as the corporate net income tax to receive state tax credits. Those credits are equal to 75 percent of the business’s contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. The rate can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if the business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.

If your business is currently enrolled in this program through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, please consider a donation to BTE in 2016-2017!

If you are not enrolled and are interested in more information about participating in the program, visit www.NEWPA.com/eitc. The deadline for new businesses is July 1.

Please contact Cindy Schultz at cgschultz@bte.org or (570) 784-5530 for more information about the EITC program.
